Caption: Lee A. Tregrutha heads up bound in the St. Clair river at Sarnia, originally built in 1942 and served the US navy durring WW2 as the tanker USS Chiwawa she was purchased in 1960 by Clevland Cliffs Steamship Co. for lengthening and conversion to a great lakes ore carrier and named Walter A. Sterling. By 1985 it was again sold and renamed William Clay Ford (2)for Ford Motor Company's subsidiary Rouge Steel Co. Again in 1989 it was sold to Lakes Shipping Company an affiliate of Interlake Steamship Co and renamed Lee A. Tregrutha as she sails today.
